I’ve stayed several times now and it’s always quite pleasant. This is not your typical airport hotel. The rooms are quite nice and even have a separate soaking tub. The rooms face interior courtyards so there is no noise at all. The restaurant is also quite good, but it does get full. Excellent location if you’re transiting through T5. However it was a $30 taxi ride to T2, which is a bit much. You can take the Heathrow Express to T2 but that does involve quite a lot of walking. Nonetheless this is still the best place to stay at LHR.

Great location, easy to find, just a short walk from LHR Terminal 5. Perfect for our 15-hr overnight layover. Greeted at reception desk by Umar, who asked if it was our first time at Sofitel, which it was. He upgraded our room and gave us breakfast for two and two free drinks at the bar. Quiet room, never heard any airport noise. Quick checkout and easy access for connecting flight the next morning.

Gilroy looked after us so well. We felt like VIP’s. The welcome was warm. The service throughout the meal faultless. It was service with a smile. He even went the extra mile to get me some ice cream that wasn’t on the menu! The food was excellent and we had a really lovely evening Thank you Gilroy and Sofitel!
