We have stayed at the Novotel York a number of times and we have never been disappointed. Great location just a short walk to the centre. Great rooms, friendly staff and nice breakfast to set the day up.

I really like the location and the parking that comes with this hotel. The rooms are light and airy and the bed and pillows were comfy. It was all clean. I was staying with my teenage daughter and had booked an executive room with sofa bed. Unfortunately the sofa was not made up, and the extra bits and pieces that come with an executive room and extra person were not in place. The front desk staff resolved the situation promptly when I told them but little things make all the difference. I am not keen on the separate toilet with no handwashing basin close to it but I would stay here again. Breakfast is good - plenty of choice and the restaurant is clean and comfortable.

Hotel overall very good. Good bar, restaurant and staff. Only let down by sub standard room, advertised as Queen sized standard. The room had a seperate toilet to the ensuite bathroom which was extremely small and no handwash faculties. Room wasn't cleaned to sufficient standard with heavily stained carpet and fixtures falling off the wall. Sink in the bathroom did not hold water. Crumbs and dust on cupboard handles.

The stay was good for location and prefect for parking facilities. Was surprised that the hotel had no complementary accessories such as a simple shower cap, cotton pads and slippers. The toilet is separate from the bathroom and it’s a very small area. Hotel provided an iron but water lock was missing and steam fiction did not work. The the air conditioning broke down and when it did work it didn’t feel like an air conditioning unit at all. Had to sleep with the window open all night. Requested for extra pillows for my kids beds had only been provided one each and they said they had none available as the hotel was full. Went online to see if I could get a booking for the same night and options came up to provide accommodation even though we were told the hotel was fully booked?
